September 15 is the annual Chinquapin HOA meeting at 10 a.m. at Happ's Bar & Grill, 5915 Hwy 107, Glenville, NC. Owners should have received an email 8.16.23 from senearthco.com regarding the meeting with a proxy form attached to the email. Check your spam or promotions if you don't see it in your Inbox; or yours may be mailed to you. IPM sent these out; call IPM at 828.650.6875 if you don't get the notification.
It is important that each owner who isn't able to attend send a proxy to IPM. Assign the name of the Chinquapin neighbor or lot owner to whom you ask to vote on your behalf. IPM needs to receive proxies by Sept. 13.
Check the owner directory under Owner Resources to find a neighbor's or lot owner's contact info. If you're not in the directory, contact Val Talley or Martha Dobson to be added to it. vhtalley@gmail.com meadobson@gmail.com
Bears in Chinquapin have been a often discussed topic this summer. Amy Vieitez got this photo of mom and her triplets (one is peeking out behind mom) near a house on Cow Mountain recently.
A Bearwise program to inform us and address bear and people concerns is set for Sept. 15 at 4-5 pm at the Outpost. I know, I know, 2 meetings in 1 day! Why? The NC Wildlife biologist speaker, Ashley Hobbs, works weekends during the fall hunting season so weekdays are good for her schedule, and I hope that since more folks are in town for the HOA meeting, it will be convenient for them to hear this hour-long program and ask questions. I've heard this is a very good program.Your guests are welcome, too. Let me know (Martha Dobson meadobson@gmail.com) if you can make it or are considering attending so sufficient materials are on hand.
